haba soccer academy
HSA is a not-for-profit organization that will provide training and development for individuals, children, coaches, goal keepers, and volunteers. We will provide an ‘on field’ team responsible for coaching and training of registered participants and coaches who join our academy and coaching programs. Patrick Haba, a former soccer player and coach, heads the ‘on field’ team. Other participants include retired soccer players and coaches with international and local experience.

International Outreach and Exchange Program
One of the distinctive features of the Haba Soccer Academy will be that we retain people with a broad range of professional experience. Our international program will be headed by Federic Anikine, a man who has coached in multiple countries and has 19 years of experience. He will be in charge of engaging international coaches, soccer academies and global stakeholders who run soccer camps outside of Canada. At HSA, we recognize the value of exposure and alliances with International football clubs. It is for that reason we will be offering our registrants the opportunity to gain knowledge, increase their skills and broaden their horizons through engagement in exchange activities with our international partners. Through Mr. Anikine’s relationships with world-class footballers and coaches, the outreach program will initiate and develop soccer clinics abroad that will form the hub of our exchange program available to registered players and coaches.
National Outreach
Another focus is to ensure that our service reaches into communities Canada-wide, where the beautiful game is played. We also intend to be an equal opportunity provider, reaching into communities of varying economic realities. We are planning on having activities in the Toronto communities of Regent Park and Jane and Finch where we expect to find a lot of potential for excellence. We will offer a bundle of sessions where participants will learn the fundamentals of the game, as well as basic field coaching.
Human Resources
We at Haba Soccer Academy thoroughly understand that the core of any sports academy’s competency lies in its team of coaches. We know that parents and guardians want to ensure their children get training by highly skilled personnel who are also committed to the safety of all participants, while implementing appropriate procedures and protocols to achieve that goal. In addition, passion, knowledge and service are the values that motivate the talented individuals whom we gather from international soccer teams and organizations. All of our coaches are licensed with Soccer for Life, some having achieved the License A, the highest practical qualification for footballers. Because we plan to be an organization that stands out from the rest, we will always emphasize passion over indifference, knowledge over neglect and service over selfishness.
Funding
Initial funding will come from a combination of sources including sponsorship, fundraising events, private donations, grants and investments. This approach will allow us to offer training to young people who have an interest in playing soccer without fees and equipment cost being an obstacle to becoming skilful at the “beautiful game.” Funds collected will be used for the following expenses for 2020/21:
- Purchase of soccer equipment
- Office Rental
- Marketing and promotion campaign
- Enrolment campaign for soccer camps
